FAQ

Am I able to stop in and buy a baked good?

Unfortunately not, I am not a storefront bakery. Everything I make is pre ordered, if you are wanting to place an order but are unsure if its too late, shoot me an email @ flyingpigcakery@gmail.com and I will sure to let you know if I'm all booked up or not! which leads to this next question...

How far in advance do I need to place my order?

The earlier the better! I try my best to not turn down orders, but I am only one person! Placing your order  a week in advance for Birthdays. A month in advance would be ideal for large events. For weddings, try to start planning around the 6 month mark, but again the earlier the better to secure your spot!  In a time time crunch?

Give me a call and I'll do my best to help.

How much are your cakes?

Each cake is different, Pricing starts with the flavors and fillings you choose. Next is designing, All extra bits from Sugar flowers, gold leaf, scroll work, figures and other design elements are additional and priced per design. From wedding cake flavors to the perfect icing for a smash cake, we are happy to help you pick the perfect flavor combinations to make your cake an unforgettable experience!

Do you offer wedding cake tastings?

I do offer tastings for weddings. The couple/ family will get to taste up to three cake batter flavors and three fillings of your choice. Wanting to try more than 3 batters/ fillings will just be an additional cost. Bringing pictures, swatches of colors, and other ideas is very helpful to give me a good feel for what you want your wedding cake or desserts to look like!

Am I able to get each tier a different flavor?

Yes! There is no additional cost to do more than one flavor- this goes for both wedding cakes and all other events!

Do you deliver, if so how far?

Absolutely!! I understand it can be very stressful delivering a cake, so leave it to me to make sure it gets there in one piece! As for distance, right now there is no limit,

the furthest I have driven a large cake was 3.5 hours away.

Let us know where you are celebrating and we will deliver.

Delivery fees are based on distance and geographical concerns.

I've never had fondant what does it taste like?

Fondant is a form of icing that is very smooth and looks flawless on cakes, many designs that go onto cakes are made from fondant. To me, it tastes like a chewier version of a marshmallow. Some people hate it while others love it. If you're worried your guests won't like the taste but you love the look, it is very easy to peel off and eat around!

Do you offer Vegan options??

YES! We offer Vegan cakes as well as brownies!

Deposits Booking and Cancellations

Is a deposit required when placing a cake order?

Yes. We require a non-refundable deposit of 50.00 for celebration cakes to book your order and reserve your date on our booking calendar.  If your balance is not paid in full one week prior to your event, you forfeit your deposit, and risk not being accommodated. Our wedding bookings require a 100.00 non-refundable deposit to save the date.

WHY is it non-refundable?
Because we book up quickly.  There would be no way for us to go back and get all of the customers we turned down to backfill your spot if you decide to cancel your order. Your deposit ensures availability and we manage our entire team and production schedule based on your order.

Booking

Celebration cakes: After we discuss the details of your event and decide on a cake that you like, if you are interested in booking and would like to proceed, we would require a non-refundable 50.00 deposit to secure your date. The remaining balance must be paid in full one week prior to your event. The balance and deposit are non-refundable. They can be transferrable depending on our booking calendar.

What forms of payments do you accept?

We accept all credit cards and cash only. For your protection, we do not process credit card orders over the phone. However, for your convenience, an invoice is emailed to you to pay online.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

A non-refundable deposit of 50.00 for celebration cakes is due upon order placement.

Balance is due in full one week prior to your event. If an order is not picked up on the day of delivery or delivery is denied, the client is still responsible for the full balance of the order. We will make every attempt to contact you in the event of a missed pickup or denied delivery. If a cancellation is made less than one week prior to your event, the balance is still due in full. *Please understand that when you book an order, we decline other orders. If you cancel, that could result in hundreds of dollars lost, just to accommodate your order (obviously, whether you cancel or not).In the event of cancellation:

1. All requests for cancellation must be made in writing.
2. If a cancellation is received, your deposit will not be refundable.
3. If a cancellation is received less than one week prior to the promised
delivery/pickup date, the full balance is still the client’s responsibility.

We hope that we’ve answered all your questions!
